After the near miss, we stayed at her place for awhile. Well, after a few hours of sitting in the dark we decided to roam around and see what was open / had power. Hopefully we could find a hotel with working amenities to take refuge. At first this was a big mistake. We saw power lines and other trees fall right in front of us. Route 25 from Smithtown to Coram was pretty much blacked out. Then, just as we were about to give up, we saw the big yellow sign with red letters casting a luminescent glow that made us cheer.
